2021 Winter - Genesee County - Flint

K-6th Grade Leagues:
Season Format:
This is a 8 week season. Each team has a one hour practice followed by a one hour game each week. All divisions will play on Sunday afternoons starting at noon with the youngest group and working into the older divisions as the day progresses.

Week 1: Meet and Greet - This is a 30 minute team meeting followed by a one hour practice. Coaches will distribute jerseys and other equipment ordered in registration at this meeting.
Weeks 2-7: Practice/games - Each team has a one hour practice followed by a one hour game each week.
Week 8: Playoffs for 4th grade and up
   Final practice/game for K-3rd grade

Practice & Game Locations: New Standard Academy (You do not have to be from New Standard to play in the program)
Participants will receive a NBA reversible jersey and individual participation award (for K-2nd Grade only). Only Champion and Runner-up teams will receive a trophy in the 3rd grade and older divisions.

K-2nd Fall Leagues (Coed):
K, 1st and 2nd Grade Divisions are coed. They will play on Sundays with the youngest group starting at noon. We will work into the older divisions as the day progresses. (Grades may be combined based on numbers)
K-2nd Grade is a 3 vs. 3, recreational, co-ed format. We try to limit teams to 6 players to maximize playing time. There are no playoffs
 
3rd-6th Grade Girl League:
3rd/4th Grade and 5th/6th Grade Girls Divisions will play on Sundays after the K-2nd grade divisions are complete. (Divisions may change based on registration numbers)
The Girls Divisions will be a 5 vs. 5, recreational format. We try to limit teams to 10 players to maximize playing time. Top 4 teams in each division make the playoffs. All other teams will play a consolation game their last week.
 
3rd-6th Grade Boy League:
3rd/4th Grade and 5th/6th Grade Boys Divisions will play on Sunday afternoons after the girl divisions. (Divisions may change based on registration numbers)
The Boys Divisions will be a 5 vs. 5, recreational format. We try to limit teams to 10 players to maximize playing time. Top 4 teams in each division make the playoffs. All other teams will play a consolation game their last week.

We do not combine more than 3 grades in a division.

This is an exceptional program for first time players who want to learn the fundamentals of basketball. There are no try-outs! Everyone participates!

Meet and Greet: January 23rd
First Game: January 30th
Season End Date: March 13th (Last Practice/Game K-2nd Grade, Playoffs for 3rd-6th Grade)

Fall Registration Deadline: Friday, December 10th

Registrations will be accepted after the deadline based on availability and will be subject to a $25.00 late fee.
